Sunderland aren't expected to recall Asamoah Gyan from his loan at Al Ain.

Gyan has been linked with a return after Connor Wickham suffered a knee injury on Saturday.

The Daily Mail says it is understood there is no chance of Gyan being recalled from his season-long loan spell at Al-Ain in the United Arab Emirates.

Gyan made his shock move to the Middle East in September after a less than impressive start to the new campaign, and an unhappy manager Steve Bruce initially admitted it was difficult to see him returning.
