Sunderland defender Onuoha insists no rift with Man City boss Mancini

Sunderland loan signing Nedum Onuoha insists he has no problem with Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini.

Onuoha has not burnt his bridges with Mancini - and simply says the Italian's silence is just part of his character.

"I'm in the same boat as Craig Bellamy - he doesn't tend to speak to certain people," Onuoha told the Sunday Sun. "Some people he speaks to, others he doesn't. That's nothing against the manager, it's just the way he is.

"It didn't look like I was going to be in the 25-man squad - especially as they were prepared to let me go out on loan - so I needed to leave in order to play.

"I had a few other options but this was by far the best opportunity for me.

"Steve Bruce made his interest known right at the end of last season, and when you hear something like that it's good because you know you are wanted.

"It's great to know that someone like him - who had such a great career at Man United - rates me, but I think he also realises that I can still learn and improve as a player."
