Sunderland are keen to bring Joao Teixeira back to England in January.
The Portuguese midfielder only left Liverpool for Porto over the summer.
However, Sunderland boss David Moyes, desperate to shake up his failing squad, wants to bring Teixeira back to England.
Local media sources say Moyes is planning a January move for Teixeira.
The youngster chose Porto ahead of Bosman offers from Fiorentina and AC Milan, but is yet to make his debut.
