Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is eyeing Birmingham City defender Liam Ridgewell.
The People says the £3million-rated Birmingham defender, 27, put in a summer transfer request after City's relegation from the Premier League.
Blues rejected it and, despite Newcastle United interest in the last window, he remained at St Andrew's.
But the Potters could offer Ridgewell, whose deal ends in 2013, a return to the top flight.
