Stoke consider expanding the Brit to 30,000-plus

Stoke City are considering expanding the Britannia stadium.

Stoke chief Tony Scholes said: "We all hope we can expand the stadium and have crowds of more than 30,000 in here.

"In order to do that, we have to be sure we are going to fill it. If we sell out our season tickets, then that is a very good indicator that we have the support out there to expand the stadium.

"In an ideal world, we will sell out of season tickets and start a waiting list for people who want one in the future.

"These are all positive signals to help us in the decision of whether to expand."
