Stoke City boss Mark Hughes admits he'd love to sign Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.

But he fears the finances involved would see such a deal a non-starter.

Hughes said: "For the moment we have to keep our cards to close to our chest.

"I can tell you straight there would be interest [in Dzeko] if it was ever viable.

"It's not one we could ever contemplate doing unfortunately."
