Stoke boss Hughes hoping Assaidi season not over

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes says Oussama Assaidi has visited a knee specialist in the Netherlands in a bid to save his season.

The 25-year-old winger, who is on loan from Liverpool, is struggling with ligament damage.

"Ossie (Assaidi) has been to Holland to see a knee specialist. We are looking at all avenues to get him back as quickly as possible," Hughes told the Stoke Sentinel.

He had a little setback when he pranged the fatty part of his knee, but he's getting there now.

"It's quite stable, but there is still a bit of soreness with it and we're looking at different things to try to get it right."
