Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is happy to stick with Marc Wilson at centre-half.
Wilson replaced Marc Muniesa as deputy for the injured centre-half Robert Huth, and played his part in a goalless draw with fellow strugglers Cardiff City.
Hughes said: "I thought we were the team that was controlling the game and I was pleased with that aspect.
"We just needed something to drop for us in the box, and that's what was missing in our play. There were a number of half-chances, but not so many full ones.
"I thought there was a real desire in our play and we responded in the right manner after Everton.
"We made a couple of changes, and I thought Marc Wilson was outstanding at the back."
