Spurs to lean on Mendes for summer market work

Tottenham are set to lean on super agent Jorge Mendes for their summer market campaign.

Former Benfica pair Carlos Vinicius and Gedson Fernandes came from Mendes' pool of talented players.

Football Insider reports Spurs may look to Mendes to find them more stars if it means keeping costs as low as possible.

One area Tottenham are likely to improve this summer is in goal, with captain Hugo Lloris showing signs of waning at 34 years old this season.

The France international has just 12 months left on his contract, and could even be cashed in on.

Chairman Daniel Levy has even talked about “irrecoverable" losses of £150m this season without fans inside stadiums.

And the Spurs chief is set to keep his purse string extremely tight, which will mean Jose Mourinho has to get even more creative.
