Tottenham are said to be considering bringing back an older player to prevent him going elsewhere.
The North London club may sign former academy prospect Marcus Edwards in the coming months.
The 24-year-old departed Spurs in 2019, but has excelled abroad and in Portugal in particular.
Edwards is a star at Sporting CP, while he scored in the Champions League against Spurs last season.
Portuguese publication Correio de Manha states that Spurs can get Edwards back for a low fee.
Other clubs would have to cough up a lot of cash, but Spurs can secure Edwards for £34 million.
