Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is pleased with Brad Friedel's new contract.
The veteran American keeper put pen to paper yesterday on a contract that extends his stay at White Hart Lane until at least the end of next season.
Friedel, 41, wrote on Twitter: "Very happy about the new contract! As I have always said I'm very happy here and will help Spurs in any role!!"
The ex-Aston Villa No 1 agreed to stay despite losing his place to £8million deadline-day signing Hugo Lloris recently. Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas said: "Brad has been such an important player.
"It gives me the ability at any time to throw a different keeper into the game."
