Southampton fullback Perraud: We have to stay together, no blaming whoever

Southampton fullback Romain Perraud says they must up their intensity as they face a relegation battle.

The defender was speaking after his side's 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday – a result which led to the sacking of manager Ralph Hasenhuttl less than 24 hours later.

Perraud said: “Everybody's disappointed but now we have to fight for everything.

“Because, until the end, we play to stay in the Premier League, definitely."

He added: “At the moment we are not clinical, it is like this but we have to stay positive in this situation. We have to stay together, no blaming whoever.

“Just keep going and ready for Liverpool (on Saturday).

“We have to fight with this mindset because the Premier League is very tight, every team is very close.

“But we need to keep going. At the moment, it is not enough to be honest."
