Southampton fullback Perraud eager to make up for lost time

Southampton fullback Romain Perraud suffered a significant setback when his club needed him the most.

After Timo Livramento went down with an ACL injury and Kyle Walker-Peters was moved to the right-hand side, Perraud had a chance to become first choice in the left-back slot.

He instead picked up a leg fracture, which means that he is still working on achieving 100 percent fitness and sharpness.

With Southampton having made a poor start to the season, Perraud hopes he can find his best form and help the team as well.

“I am happy to help the team because this is my mindset on the pitch, if I can help the team I am happy," he told the Daily Echo.

“Against West Ham again as well, I don't know if this is a sign!

“It was not easy because I had no pre-season but now game after game I feel comfortable with my body. For me, this is the most important thing because now it is my second game with 90 minutes.

“It is nice to keep going like this but I have to be careful because the Premier League is hard and I must manage my body."
