Southampton boss Hughes labels counterpart Hughton underrated

Southampton manager Mark Hughes believes that his counterpart at Brighton is an underrated manager.

Chris Hughton has received praise for his work at Brighton, but Hughes believes that he is not rated as highly as he may deserve. The two square off in the Premier League this weekend.

Hughes said of Hughton to The Argus: "He's done an outstanding job. Since he's come up he's established them as a good club in the Premier League, at the top level of English football.

"Chris is very underrated as a manager in my view. He's done great jobs everywhere he has been and sometimes doesn't get the recognition for what he has achieved in the game.

"From his point of view, I think he is enjoying his time there. It looks a good club, a stable club, good facilities, great stadium, so a lot of things you need as a manager are in place for him.

"I'm sure he's enjoying his time at the moment."
