Southampton boss Hughes: Austin's ghost goal can be good for us

Southampton boss Mark Hughes is confident their draw with Watford can work in their favour after breaking up for international week.

With Saints one goal to the good against Watford, Charlie Austin's goal was wrongly ruled out for offside, with the referee believing that it had hit Maya Yoshida on its way to goal.

That left things more finely poised and the Hornets stung the hosts late on when Jose Holebas's deflected effort found its way into the corner on 82 minutes.

“We'll have about ten guys left behind and it's a good opportunity to get some good work into them. Hopefully everybody who is away will come back fit and well," Hughes reflected.

“I sense that we can't wait for the Fulham game because it's a game that we've always targeted because it's a good opportunity for us to get maximum points and that doesn't change.

“Given the events of Saturday, I think we'll be even more determined."
