Southampton are haggling with Vitesse Arnhem over a price for Alexander Buttner.
The fullback also has held talks with Fulham and QPR, but wants a move to St Mary's.
Voetbal International says Saints' opening offer for Buttner has fallen well short of Vitesse's valuation, though negotiations are continuing.
