Penarol president Jorge Barrera made contact with Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann this week.
In Madrid on Tuesday, Barrera was at the Metropolitano to see Atletico defeat Huesca. And before the game he was able to meet and present Griezmann with a Penarol shirt.
Barrera also invited the Frenchman to the Estadio Campeon del Siglo to meet with socios in December. Griezmann will be in Montevideo at the time for his wedding.
