Schalke winger Rabbi Matondo has apologised to fans after being snapped in a shirt of great rivals Borussia Dortmund.
The 19-year-old was pictured wearing the Dortmund jersey with Jadon Sancho's name and number on the back during a gym session in Cardiff in a post on Instagram, which was later deleted.
Matondo was given a warning by Schalke and on Wednesday he said sorry to the club and its supporters.
In a post on his official Twitter account, the former Manchester City youth teamer said: "Addressing the pictures circulated on social media of me in the shirt of our biggest rivals, I am very sad and disappointed in myself for letting everyone associated with Schalke down.
"I want to clear this situation up and most importantly to apologise to everyone at the club, in particular our incredible fans, causing such hurt and upset was absolutely not my intention."
"I did this not thinking of the consequences and how upset I would make a lot of people."
