SHOCKER! Alexander-Arnold gave up possession once every two minutes in Liverpool defeat

Liverpool fullback Trent Alexander-Arnold endured a nightmare performance in defeat at Southampton last night.

The Daily Mail reports Alexander-Arnold gave the ball away for Liverpool 38 times in their defeat at Southampton on Monday night - more than any other player in a single game this season.

The Premier League champions slipped up once again in their title defence with Danny Ings' second minute strike proving to be the winning goal for Ralph Hasenhuttl's side.

Alexander-Arnold has had a mixed campaign to date and found the going tough on Monday evening as he was hauled off by Jurgen Klopp on 77 minutes to be replaced by James Milner.

It meant the England international gave the ball away once every two minutes at St Mary's as Klopp's Reds struggled in front of goal on Monday night.

The defender also holds the record for the most possession giveaways in Premier League history - 49 against Leicester City last season.
