Newcastle United could have to deal with one of their loan stars returning this winter.

Sheffield Wednesday are said to be considering ending Jeff Hendrick's loan early this month.

The 31-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, has only played 10 times in the Championship this season.

He is not in favor at Hillsborough under Danny Rohl and a termination of the loan does appear likely.

The Sheffield Star adds that Wednesday are hoping to free up that loan spot for another player.

While Hendrick is not disliked by the club, they do not want to lose a loan spot on a bit part player.
