Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard could be set for a shock return to management in the Championship.

The former Aston Villa and Rangers boss was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

However, Gerrard appears to have turned down an approach from Al Ettifaq.

Bookies in England have made Gerrard the favorite to secure the Sheffield Wednesday job.

He is at odds of only 6/4, after Wednesday parted company with boss Darren Moore.

Another who has been linked to the job is Bruno Lage, but the former Wolves' boss has seen his odds drift.
