Sevilla pair Rakitic, Gomez fume: We woke expecting to train then were ordered to play

Sevilla midfielder Ivan Rakitic was left angry after their Copa del Rey defeat at Real Betis.

Sevilla lost 2-1 after the match resumed on Sunday, having been postponed with the score at 1-1 on Saturday after their midfielder Joan Jordan was struck by a missile.

Rakitic said, "I am angry, it has clearly gone against us in many things.

"We cannot forget everything and we ask the fans to see the effort that the team has made, because we are going to get up and there are many important things left."

Teammate Papu Gomez also said: "It was decided in details, what happened these two days is quite unreal. We wanted to continue in this Copa and give people joy. We have to turn the page and think about what's coming. Today we woke up thinking we were going to train, then they told us we had to play."
