Sevilla coach Jorge Sampaoli has expressed interest in Tottenham winger Bryan Gil.

Sampaoli admits he fancied signing Gil when in charge of Olympique Marseille.

The Argentine said: "We always assess young people, we always train with a group during sessions.

"In step 2017, Bryan Gil was with us (when Sampaoli was first in charge of Sevilla). He was 14 or 15 years old. We took the best players to train with us during a first team training.

"They were the best, regardless of their age. Bryan arrived that day and he was very young. He ended up being exceptional.

"I remembered him when I wanted to take him to OM."
