Sevilla chief Victor Orta says there's plenty of blame to share around over the sacking of Jose Luis Mendilibar.
Orta made the admission at Diego Alonso-'s unveiling as new coach today.
He said, "In football the only way to break something are the results. Adding eight points in eight games in the League made us evaluate the situation and decide to dismiss the coach.
"It's not just the coaching staff that is guilty of this. The players and surely I are also guilty. The way to choose to provoke a reaction is to change the coach, but the fault lies with many more."
On Alonso he said: “I met Diego Alonso on November 14, 2010. That day we beat Zaragoza with a goal from Negredo. I was in Uruguay and I met him at a barbecue in Rabajda. He told me that since he was 23 he wanted to be a coach and he was still an active player. He surprised me a lot. Since then I have a very extensive knowledge of Diego.
"That is why I presented him to the management committee as a future coach of Sevilla and today he is."
