Seattle Sounders full-back Yedlin to head to Tottenham this winter

Seattle Sounders general manager Adrian Hanauer has confirmed that DeAndre Yedlin will be leaving the club this off-season.

The 21-year old USA full-back signed a four-year contract with Premier League club Tottenham in August this year before being sent back on loan to the MLS Supporters' Shield champions for the remainder of the 2014 season.

It was expected that the US Soccer Young Male Athlete of the Year was to remain with the Sounders for much of the 2015 campaign but Hanauer indicated that the former development league player will be on his way to north London this winter.

"I wouldn't say it's 100-percent at this point, but it seems highly, highly likely that DeAndre will get a work permit to be able to play in England," Hanauer said.

"He's anticipated to be heading over to Tottenham in the middle or end of December."

Yedlin rose to prominence with the Sounders in 2013 and has so far made close to 70 appearances for the MLS outfit prior to his expected move to England.
