Lamar Neagle was delighted to be the man to help Seattle Sounders to a victory on Wednesday night.
Neagle's first goal since July 28 gave the Sounders a 1-0 triumph over Chivas USA and he did it without the support of fellow forwards Eddie Johnson, Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins.
Neagle admitted it was a great feeling to chip in when needed but he plans to get himself on the scoresheet even when the famed trio return from international duty (Johnson and Dempsey) and injury (Martins).
"I think just confidence-wise, I want to be the guy that steps up and scores a goal in every single game," he said.
"Whether Clint and Eddie are out there, or Oba is out there, I still want to score goals. It doesn't really matter who's out there, I want to obviously be one scoring goals.
"It's the same thing when they're not there."
