Scotland withdraws Celtic young gun Forrest for Belgium clash

James Forrest has joined Celtic teammate Scott Brown on the sidelines as Scotland prepare to take on Belgium in World Cup qualifying on Tuesday night.

21-year old winger Forrest has been withdrawn from the squad with a groin injury and will be unavailable to face Belgium tomorrow along with Hoops skipper Brown who has been hampered by a recurrence of his ongoing hip problem.

Forrest played no part in Scotland's 2-1 loss to Wales on Friday night and last played for his country in last month's 1-1 draw with Macedonia.

It is unsure if Forrest will take his place in Neil Lennon's Celtic side which meets St Mirren in the Scottish Premier League on the weekend.
