Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger faces a losing battle putting the squeeze on Schalke over Julian Draxler's asking price.
Wenger is reluctant to go higher than £30 million for the youngster, but Schalke are confident they'll get much more for him in the summer.
A source told the Daily Mail: "We know we can get 45.5million euros for him in the summer, under the terms of his contract, so it would make no sense to sell him now for that much, let alone less.
''If there was an extraordinary bid, beyond his clause, we might consider it, but otherwise he stays for the rest of the season.'
Schalke chiefs also say that, with the window in Germany closing at 6pm, they have no time to bring in a replacement.
