Schalke sports director Jochen Schneider is pushing to close a deal for Everton fullback Jonjo Kenny.
The Bundesliga outfit, which now have former Huddersfield manager David Wagner in charge, are eager to bring Kenny to Germany for next season.
BILD says Schneider has opened talks with Everton about a season-long loan with the option to make the deal permanent in June.
Crystal Palace and Burnley are also keen, though Schneider is working 'intensely' to make Kenny the first signing of the Wagner era.
The defender would be prepared to leave as he acts as only cover for Seamus Coleman at Goodison Park.
