Rossi happy with Villarreal decision

Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi doesn't feel "snubbed" by Italian clubs after he moved to Spain in the summer from Manchester United.

"I don't feel like I have been snubbed by the country I developed in, I think it's wrong to look at football according to national boundaries," Rossi insisted. "I was really convinced that I would stay in Serie A, but then came the offer from Villarreal and they were the only ones to make a concrete bid."

Rossi has made a superb start to life in La Liga and has found the net five times in seven games for the Yellow Submarine.

"England is a more physical style of play and in Italy you need to use your head, but Spain gives you more freedom," he continued. "I've already got used to the yellow cards in La Liga - if you touch an opponent you get booked.

"I want to keep scoring and get a place in the full Azzurri side so I can score in the World Cup Final like another Rossi did years ago."
