Danny Rose admits he's gunning for Benoit Assou-Ekotto's place at Tottenham.
Rose hopes to dislodge the 27-year-old with a good run in the Europa League.
Rose said: "My ultimate aim is to be in the starting XI on a Saturday. I got in the team for the last four games of last season and did well.
"I started all right in pre-season and was unlucky to get the injury. That has set me back a bit, but I want to be in the starting line-up on a Saturday.
"The way I train I think I deserve to be in and around it.
I hope to do well (against Rubin Kazan) and get some positive feedback."
