Ronald Araujo's priority is to re-sign with Barcelona.

Sport says Araujo and his agent have told the club their absolute priority is staying at Barcelona, because they feel recognised and appreciated there. However there are important offers from the Premier League that Barcelona have known about.

Conversations started months ago. Then technical secretary, Ramon Planes, has a good relationship with Araujo's people, having signed him for the club when he was an unknown. He started the conversations. Planes's departure stopped them but they have been restarted and a deal should be reached in January.

Araujo only wants Barcelona to pay him for his performance. He's a clear starter and the best centre back at the club. It's not a question of raising his deal to that of the biggest players, but at least coming closer.
