Roma coach Jose Mourinho has taken aim at former club Tottenham.

Mourinho infamously fired in the week leading up to the Carabao Cup final in 2021.

He recalled on the Obi One podcast: “The most ridiculous situation happened in a club with an empty trophy room, where I was fired two days before the final.

"Tottenham won the trophy about 50 years ago, I don't remember when. There were two days left before the final, but I couldn't take part in it."

He added that the dismissal “smelled bad."
