Roma coach Fonseca blasts Zaniolo after victory over Verona

AS Roma coach Paulo Fonseca blasted Nicolo Zaniolo after victory over Hellas Verona.

A converted Jordan Veretout penalty and Edin Dzeko header helped Roma to a 2-1 win, despite a spectacular Matteo Pessina back-heel flick.

“It's always difficult to face certain teams," the coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“I think we won well this evening, although we should've killed the game off earlier by making the most of the opportunities that we created. Pau Lopez barely had a save to make."

In the final minutes, defender Gianluca Mancini was spotted shouting at substitute Zaniolo.

“He was absolutely right to do so, because Zaniolo must do more to help the team," added Fonseca.

“He has to realise that when he comes off the bench, he has to help the team and I didn't like his attitude today because he did not help the team. I am not satisfied with this attitude."
