Roma chief Monchi ready to make Arsenal move

AS Roma chief Monchi is ready to move to Arsenal as new technical director.

The Mirror says Monchi is ready to move to Arsenal in the summer.

The Gunners are targeting the highly-regarded Spaniard to take up a newly-created role of technical director, and Monchi is keen.

The 50-year-old, who is under contract in the Italian capital until 2020, is believed to fancy a job in the Premier League.

Monchi knows Gunners boss Unai Emery from working together with him at Sevilla, where they won the Europa League three years in a row.

Arsenal are looking to promote from within to replace outgoing head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, with Francis Cagigao expected to step up into the role.
