Roma captain Francesco Totti has welcomed the arrival of new signing Adriano.

The former Inter Milan and Flamengo striker was unveiled by Roma yesterday.

"I am sure that Adriano will manage to demonstrate his qualities at Roma," Totti wrote on his official website.

"Together we could do great things for a great Roma. I want to welcome the Emperor.

"It really was destiny that Adriano came to play in the capital with the red and yellow jersey.

"Everyone of us will do our best to make him feel at home. He'll get the reception he deserves and the warmth of the fans.

"We will help him in every way to fit into the group. Among other things, he will find many Brazilians who he knows very well, having played with many of them for Brazil."
