Roma boss Fonseca raps players' attitude for Werder Bremen draw

Roma boss Paulo Fonseca was left upset with his players after their 2-2 draw with Europa League opponents Werder Bremen.

Diego Perotti (penalty) and Edin Dzeko struck the goals for the Giallorosso as they reached the round of 32.

“We achieved our objective, which is qualification. It would've been important to win, but we did not play with the right attitude," Fonseca told Sky Sport Italia.

“Evidently, we made the mistake of thinking the game was won before it even began, but Wolfsberg are a good team. We made a lot of mistakes, they pressed us and it's normal after that many errors that we cannot get the result we want.

“Borussia Monchengladbach went out, but it's not easy for me to accept this result. Wolfsberg played without pressure on their shoulders, they had a great attitude and I did not like our performance.

“We must learn to control the tempo of the game. When we introduced Pellegrini and Zaniolo, we did better, but in the first half we were giving the ball away constantly and created the situations for our opponents to exploit."
