Barcelona great Rivaldo can see Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola returning to the Nou Camp.

Guardiola has insisted he is committed to City, despite their current two season Champions League ban.

But Rivaldo told Betfair: "If City is shut down for two years, it would be the position for Pep Guardiola to return to Barcelona next season, even if it also depends on Barça's performance this season.

"If they win the Champions League under Quique Setien and finish strongly in LaLiga, there is no need to change coach. But if the team underperforms and makes fans disappointed, there is perhaps a realistic chance that Guardiola will return to the club where he reaped the greatest successes.

"It is still too early to seriously consider this possibility. We have to wait and see until the season is over. Does the City's suspension stand? Does Barça want to change coach so closely after Setien replaced Ernesto Velverde? We have to wait a while for the answers to these heavy questions."
