Mauricio Pochettino was open to returning to Tottenham this summer, it has been revealed.
The former Spurs boss is set to be announced new manager of Chelsea.
But the London Evening Standard says Spurs chairman Daniel Levy did consider rehiring Pochettino - and the Argentine was keen on a return
However, Levy eventually didn't offer terms, despite keeping in regular contact with the Argentine since his sacking in 2019.
Instead, the chairman is seeking a younger, hungry coach in the mould of Pochettino ten years ago.
For the moment, there's little sign that Levy has settled on a particular name.
