REVEALED: Cheeky Chelsea demanded Spurs premium for Batshuayi deal

Tottenham refused to meet Chelsea's loan fee demands for Michy Batshuayi as the striker ended up at Crystal Palace on deadline day.

The Mirror says Batshuayi wanted to go to Tottenham but Chelsea were demanding a staggering £8m loan fee - FOUR TIMES what they wanted from West Ham and Real Betis.

It sees the bitter rivalry between the two clubs spill over from the pitch to the boardroom with the north Londoners refusing to be held to ransom.

The Blues' hostility towards their London rivals resurfaced with a vengeance three years ago when they denied Spurs the chance to win the Premier League title in an explosive game dubbed the Battle of Stamford Bridge.

Ever since there have been simmering tensions between the two clubs, spiced up by Spurs' first Premier League win at the Bridge last season for 28 years.
