REVEALED: Barcelona chief Zubi failed with bids for TWO Chelsea keepers

Barcelona made attempts to sign Chelsea goalkeepers Petr Cech and Thibaut Courtois last season.

El Mundo Deportivo says Barcelona's director of football Andoni Zubizarreta contacted Chelsea officials over the possibility of taking Thibaut Courtois on loan for the season once his spell with Atletico Madrid came to an end.

Chelsea firmly rejected Barca's advances but Zubizarreta returned with a proposal to sign Czech keeper Petr Cech.

It took Blues boss Jose Mourinho's personal intervention to end Zubi's advances.

Barca later were to wrap up a Bosman agreement for Borussia Monchengladbach keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
