Rennes move for Real Valladolid defender Salisu

Rennes are moving for Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu.

Marca reports Rennes have reportedly moved ahead of Atletico Madrid in the race to sign promising Ghanaian defender Salisu.

The French side are willing to pay the defender's buyout clause of 12 million euros and hope to tempt him to the club before Los Colchoneros can make their own move.

Reports in France are confident that a deal to take Salisu to Rennes is as good as done and that he will play in Ligue 1 from the 2020/21 season onwards.

It must also be remembered that at this moment Rennes can offer the player guaranteed Champions League football, having been placed third in Ligue 1 when the season was brought to a premature end.
