League Two Hartlepool United have signed centre-back Ben Pollock on undisclosed terms, following a successful trial at Victoria Park after the 18 year olds release by Newcastle

The son of former Manchester City midfielder Jamie Pollock, he has also spent time at Leeds and Middlesbrough.

"We spotted potential in Ben," boss Craig Hignett told the club website.

"He did very well during his trial period. The thing with Ben is that his attitude is unbelievable - he's a good kid who is hungry and ambitious to do well in the game."
