Steven Reid is upset for West Bromwich Albion teammate Zoltan Gera over his knee injury.
Reid is no stranger to the frustration that faces Gera, having seen injuries restrict him to just 44 appearances in the four seasons for Blackburn prior to joining the Baggies.
"I am devastated for Zolly as a player and as a team-mate," he told the WBA website.
"It's a blow to the team but first and foremost your thoughts go out to him. We just hope his rehab goes well and he's back as soon as possible.
"I've been in similar situations, where I've had long-term injuries, come back for a spell, and then been out with another problem.
"If there is anything I can do to help him in his rehab then I will do.
"He's a great lad.
"From the minute he has walked in he's been great.
"I didn't know him before but he is a breath of fresh air around the place and always has a smile on his face.
"He's always having a laugh and a joke and hopefully he can keep his spirits up as much as possible."
