Harry Redknapp believes a sensational England return for John Terry would help the country solve their leadership issues.
The appointment of Sam Allardyce as Roy Hodgson's replacement has raised question marks regarding the state of the Three Lions playing group which is currently led by Manchester United's Wayne Rooney.
While Redknapp is confident Rooney is still the best captain for England, he believes Allardyce could do worse than coax Chelsea great Terry out of international retirement.
"If you play Wayne Rooney, he's got to be captain," the former Tottenham and QPR boss said on talkSPORT.
"I don't see anybody else in the squad who I would make captain in front of Rooney. If Rooney isn't in the team it's a scary [thought].
"I'm delighted Sam has got the job. I think he'll do great. He'll give it a real go but when you start looking at leaders, where are they in the game?
"Bring John Terry back out of retirement and make him captain."
