Real Salt Lake's Alexandre on verge of first MLS start

Real Salt Lake midfielder Jean Alexandre is set for his first MLS start in his club's home clash with Kansas City Wizards on Saturday.

The 23-year old Haitian is expected to step in for injured captain Kyle Beckerman and vindicate the club's decision to take him with a first-round draft pick in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft.

"I feel confident I can get the job done," said the Haiti international.

"It's definitely an opportunity. No pressure, you know? I've been waiting for this moment, and it's an opportunity to get some playing time."

RSL coach Jason Kreis said the jury was still out on Alexandre but this gives him a good opportunity to prove the doubters wrong.

"We have questions about whether or not he's good enough," Kreis said.
