Real Madrid intend to buy back Ruben de la Red from Getafe in order to keep him.
De la Red has been linked with a move away from Getafe in the summer, but AS says Real have agreed to pay the £3 million needed to take the midfielder back to Madrid at the end of the season.
Real coach Bernd Schuster wants De la Red as part of his squad and the former Castilla star is likely to arrive as a replacement for unsettled midfielder Mahamadou Diarra.
