Real Madrid president Florentino Perez welcomed new signing Aurelien Tchouameni today.

The former AS Monaco midfielder was presented as a Real Madrid player at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Florentino declared: “At 22 you could choose and you chose this crest. You will live experiences that you will never forget. At the Bernabéu you will see what we have been, what we are and what we will be. You will find out why it is the best club in the world. Despite your youth, you are a must with France. You are one of the big stars in Ligue 1. You come to Madrid to live the most exciting moments of your career.

“This is a very important day for you and your family. They are proud of you. You will have the support of all the Madridistas, who will demand of you fight, commitment and sacrifice. Welcome Aurélien."

Then, the player spoke in Spanish.

“I am very happy to be here and to start my story with Real Madrid, the best club in the world. We will work hard to win more titles. Thank you to the president, my agent and my family for being there. Hala Madrid."

Tchouameni continued: "I was able to choose, but when I found out Madrid were interested I didn't think about it for a minute. I want to mark football and joining this club is the best decision for me. I had spoken with other teams and when Madrid knocked on my door, I did not hesitate. I spoke with my club, my agent to reach a good agreement for everyone and now I am happy to be here."

The midfielder also revealed Kylian Mbappe wanted him to sign for PSG.

"Kylian decided to stay at PSG, he knew I was going to leave Monaco and he wanted to know if I could go to PSG. He understood and he is happy for me."
