Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro hailed their performance for victory over Sevilla.

Real won a thriller 2-1, with Vinicius Junior hitting a stunning late winner.

Casemiro said, "It was a game between two teams who are probably playing their best football of the season. It was a great game against a side that have a clear style of play and a great coach, who I have a lot of respect for. It was a hard-earned win.

"In the first half in particular we struggled to get build up play from the back. Sevilla are a very good team, we knew it was going to be a difficult match, they play very good football and have a lot of quality players. The important thing is that we came away with the three points."

The midfielder added: "He knows that the teams are going to make it difficult for him because they realise that he's a very important player for Real Madrid. Great players score great goals whenever they get the chance. We know he's a great player, he's a difference maker when he gets the chance."
