Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has taken a swipe at Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial.

Courtois questioned Martial's profile and status in public conversation with Benfica defender Jan Vertonghen.

Vertonghen and Courtois were chatting on Pickx Sports. The defender wanted to know which stars had been left out of the Euros and asked the goalkeeper to name three.

Courtois responded immediately, stating that one of them was Sergio Ramos, who was not at the tournament with Spain.

The goalkeeper then went silent, thinking of other possible players, but none occurred to him.

After a while without saying anything, Vertonghen offered clues and mentioned among several players who could have chosen "(Erling) Haaland, Martial, (Marc-Andre) Ter Stegen, (Virgil) Van Dijk, (Nicolo) Zaniolo, (Moise) Kean, (Edin) Dzeko, (Jan) Oblak, (Miralem) Pjanic ..." To which the Courtois responded: "Martial? Is he a star player?".
